Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapists engage clients in an in-depth examination of emotional experiences, maladaptive behaviours, and complex mental health concerns through deep assessments that target behavioural modification, cognitive processes, emotional regulation, and social functioning.
In Ontario, we have a multi-disciplinary approach to psychotherapy. This means there are 6 Regulatory Colleges with members who can practice as psychotherapists; one of which is the College of Nurses of Ontario.
What issues can you support?
I specialize in helping persons navigate anxiety, depression, stress, emotion regulation as well as menopause and life transitions. I also have experience supporting those with severe mental illness including bipolar disease and schizophrenia.
Do you offer low-cost therapy?
Yes. I believe that therapy should be accessible for everyone. If cost is a barrier, please let me know and we can discuss options.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions can take place virtually for persons throughout Ontario. I also offer walk and talk sessions within Simcoe County. Walk and talks offer a more casual setting where we walk together while blending the benefits of movement and fresh air, with the emotional processing of therapy.
